Day 1: Paris – Avignon

7.30 am Meeting at the Gare de Lyon to take 7.54 am TGV to Avignon.
10.31 am Arrival Avignon station with bus connection to Avignon town.

Check in at hotel reception and distribution of tour tickets.


“Discovery” fare covers the following sites: The Palais des Papes with audio guide. The palace is a symbol of the Christian church’s influence in the West during the XIVth century.
The Pont d’Avignon with audio guide.
45 min. cruise on the Rhône river.
Dinner at the restaurant Les Domaines located on the Place de l’Horloge renowned for its operas, shows and concerts.

Overnight at hotel.

Day 2 : Orange – Châteauneuf du Pape - Avignon - Paris

Breakfast at hotel.
Around 9 am pick-up at your hotel for trip to Orange and Châteauneuf du Pape.
You will be taken on a panoramic tour of Orange to discover the « Cité des Princes » : Roman Triumphal Arch, symbol of

Roman imperialism, visit to the Théâtre Antique (entry included) which is one of the best preserved of all Roman theatres because of its perfectly intact stage wall.
Tour of the vineyards around Orange and Châteauneuf-du-Pape with a chance to enjoy a panoramic view of the countryside from the ruins of the Castle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Wine tasting in a century-old cellar at Châteauneuf-du-Pape. You can sample the most prestigious reds of the Rhône valley.
Return to hotel scheduled around 1.45 pm (Thursdays). (Programme subject to changes depending on day of week.)
Afternoon free for shopping.
Bus from Avignon around 5.30 pm for TGV.
7.08 pm train departure for Paris, arrival 10.01 pm.
